Since the inception of Ghana’s Economic Recovery programmed, the Muslim
communities have seen a drastic change in their life-style, unemployment,
bankruptcy and falling standard of living has become synonymous to the Muslims
in Ghana.
The MMWO which is run by young university, polytechnic and other graduates and
professionals is to ensure that there is a change in the life-style o the
Ghanaian Muslims, especially the youth, by pursuing these following long term
objectives;
1)
Assist the youth to acquire vocational, technical and
professional training to meet the manpower demand in Ghana in this era of economic development.
2) To create an awareness and better understanding among individuals, public and relevant agencies on the issues of violence against women and the underlying inequalities.
3)
To offer free consultancy services to small scale
Muslim businesses in the area of accounting, book-keeping, human resource
management, marketing and business research
in order to promote Muslim private sector participation in the economic
development of Ghana.
4)
To organize all the Muslim businesses in the
communities whether small scale or large scale under one unified umbrella to be
known as the Ghana Muslims chamber of commerce and industry to promote Islamic
culture and values and also to create employment for the unemployed youth.
5)
To operate a community library for the youth to promote
research and other academic activities among the youth and the street children.
6)
With assistance from charitable organizations in the
Islamic world, sponsor needy Muslim students to pursue graduate and post
graduate programmes to ensure that Muslim youth are not left behind in every
sphere of human endeavours of this country, Ghana. It would also offer Muslims
the opportunity to be heard by taken Islam into consideration in the affairs of
the state.
7)
To provide adequate water in the Muslim dominated
communities by digging wells especially where water is lacking or insufficient.
8)
To provide the needed material assistance to the
communities affected by natural disasters when the need arises.
9. Organising lftars (Feeding the Fasting) Project in Ramadan in coordination with local organisations.
10 Distributing Islamic books, Holy Qur'ans, pamphlets and audio-visual materials to Islamic schools, musques and Muslim communities in Ghana
